東京では、熱が出ないのに咳が長引く人が職場に増えたり、通勤電車が「急病人救護」のために毎日のように遅延したりしている。変化の速度が緩やかなのでわかりにくいが、五年前と比べてみれば、変化が生じているのは明白。報道されなくても発表がなくても、周囲を眺めれば何が起きているかが、見える。

私が子供の頃は「ガリ勉」が嘲笑の的になった。少年漫画では粗暴で下品で頭の悪いスポーツ少年が主人公。少女漫画でも美人で秀才のお嬢様は必ず悪役だった。しかし悪役お嬢様の逆を目指しても人生は絶対に好転しない。大衆文化の刷り込みを真に受けてはいけない例。

冬休みが近づいてきた。中学生の皆さんは深夜に遊びに出ることもあるだろう。コンビニや公園で集まり話すことも楽しい。やんちゃな友達や先輩がタバコを勧めてくるかもしれない。「風邪をひいて喉が痛い」「帰らなアカンし」授業でも言ったように、とにかく逃げよう。逃げるが勝ち。

私が訪問したアメリカの保育所は、熱のある子は預からない、熱が出た子は引き取りに来てもらう、熱があるのわかってて保育所に押し付けた親の子は次から預かり拒否すると言ってました。個人でシッター雇わないと、預けるだけでは働けないでしょうね。 https://twitter.com/marube/status/75307456138838016…
